0 Why Fight The Inevitable?!
OK, well it's probably clear by this point that any further attempts to do pushups on the same days as my runs are pretty much going to be a bust. So I yield to my scheduling restrictions & the structure of my day, & won't make any further attempts to conjoin the two. ;-)
From here on out, I'm just going to do my pushups workouts & runs on alternating days, & just not care about aligning them anymore. As long as the workouts get done, that's all I care about. And frankly, since my arms are still sore from last night, I need a break from pushups tonight!
I can say, however, that from my observations about today's run, that I definitely do feel like the pushups are helping my running, not to mention my overall confidence. Today, my arms felt incredibly strong as they were helping propel me up those hills!
Now all I need to do is start doing core strength exercises. Not sure when I'm going to add those, maybe I'll try to do them on the same day as my pushups? If I'm finding it hard to synchronize only two workouts, heaven only knows how I'm going to fit in a third one for my abs workouts.
And then there's still the weight-lifting, squats, & leg lifts I have yet to do, to strengthen my legs & the rest of my body. Aaaaaaahhhhhh! Honestly, just the thought of having to do all of these workouts is a bit overwhelming right now. Plus, I don't want to be spending my entire day doing nothing but working out & blogging! ;-) I have other things I need to do, like working & make a living, & having a social life.
OK, so one step at a time! I'll slowly incorporate one program into the workout schedule, & see if I can make it a regular part of my day over time. We'll take it VERY slowly & set out to do what's realistic, so the end result will be SUCCESS! 8-)
